Crawling out of his cave yesterday in the middle of a snowstorm, Bluefoot sat down with us in his first ever interview, to talk about how training for MCB is going, what he is most looking forward to on event day, where he is drawing his inspiration from, relationship drama and so much more…..
So Bluefoot, how is training going for the race on June 2nd?
Can’t lie, it takes a bit of dedication. No more late nights at Rusty’s and Kaytoo!
Can you give us some insight into what a typical training day for you looks like?
Eat healthy. Not as much Candy Factory and Rocky Mountain. Train hard. Practise meditation, levitation, and self-recovery. Some evenings I pounce over to the Scandinave for a recharge.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Watching anyone with disabilities overcome their perceived limitations. This is why I am a huge supporter and fan of the Soldier On Foundation.
How do you go about setting your goals for conquering the most insane 5km mountain adventure race on the planet?
I envision the compete race in my head, and run through it many times. This way when June 2nd 2012 arrives, there is no hesitation.
You have been claiming to be the time to beat. What time is that exactly?
During course layout, I listened to the engineers discussing the obstacles. (My hearing is bionic). I also caught a few of the Met Con Crew running through the course. Taking this information based on calculating their body muscle mass with their finished times, I am able to create a derivative of my own approximate time. Bluefoot know some big words too!
Can you share with us some of the things you are currently doing in your training that you think might be the keys to your success?
Keep my head clear from relationship drama, a good night sleep, keeping my cave at a constant 15 C, Crossfit and Yoga!
Care to expand on what you mean by relationship drama?
The whole SheFoot/G-Foot thing. I mean I’m happy she found someone, but G-Foot, really? Sometimes this is fur-strating.
Is there anyone new in your life right now?
Holy Barbara Walters, this is personal… let’s just say I am crushing on sombody right now, and she’s really making it hard to focus?
Ok, Bluefoot, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Chill with friends at Red Devil Sports, and the rest of the Village. Oh and Wednesday I was able to get into Toronto to check out the Reebok Crossfit Flash WOD. Stuff like this get’s me super pumped! I see the fitness industry hitting a whole new level.
What are you most looking forward to on race day?
Seeing all the humans on race day, and excitement in their faces. Plus seeing Trish Stratus on stage! Event Central will be electric!
Speaking of Trish Stratus, how do you feel about her as the new recruit for MCB?
Geesh? Trish Stratus is a great edition to the event and a tough competitor. Basically just trying not to let her get into my head so I can run a good race for my fans.
Bluefoot, what is the best advice that you have ever been given?
“Never underestimate the other guy’s greed” – Tony Montana, Scarface
