We all know the obvious why most of us run adventure races. It’s the primal instinct of challenge , fear, drawing out adrenaline which gives us the rush. But wait! A close friend informed me on other instincts which have now associated themselves to the Met Con Blue Mountain Adventure Races…

Love and lust, brought on by endorphins, fueled by exhaustion? I say, can I get a what what? Peoples had said that while running along side a complete stranger, conversation flowed so openly, it was kismet (the word is weird..). They even connected post race to exchange contact info, and there has already been a successful date ! Well I NEVER…

So a little R&D brought me this tidbit..

exercise causes the release of endorphins into the limbic and prefrontal areas of the brain, as proven by a 2008 study. The increased level of endorphins may also influence the buildup of hormones that power your libido. Endorphins also reduce stress, which is a major sex drive inhibitor.

Met Con Blue Nation, you have earned your stripes! What an amazing feat of strength, courage, and determination … by completing the most insane 5km mountain adventure race on the planet! How did all this come about…TEAMWORK!!
We thank all of our participants for bringing it…and leaving it all on the mountain!
We thank all of our volunteer base from Georgian College, through our local community, to the Coyotes, for watching our backs every muddy step of the way.

The countdown is on. We are just days away from the most insane mountain adventure race on the planet, the PERFECT way to kick off summer 2012 don’t you agree?

We want to save all our recruits a little time on race day! Take a moment to CLICK HERE and fill out Blue Mountain Resorts online waiver! Please note all recruits participating in the event must fill out the waiver, so taking a moment to do it online today will save you a ton of time when you come to check in at registration!

Our Met Con Blue event central area also has a lot of activities going on throughout the day, from zorb racing to a quarter pipe and more, any spectators wishing to take part in all the fun will also need to fill one out. Save time on event day by filling it out here today!

* Please note that you will still be asked to sign a Met Con Blue waiver, but filling the Blue Mountain waiver out online will be a huge time saver!

Sometimes we take time out to reflect. We find solstice in our friends, and green beverages. It’s not JoneeKarson and SamiDaviz Jr day! Although those little aliens are green, the only things they have in common with Leprechaun’s are the Manolo’s. This lady is NOT running the Met Con Blue Mountain Adventure Race. Sheila says she WILL be there to hoist a glass to cheer her “favorite tighty”. What? Don’t go there kimosabe.. but she also claims the better part of her is Irish, and she is a huge fan of the the Met Con Blue Mountain Adventure Race. Come one, come all, to the most insane 5km mountain adventure race on the planet!… but for today…

MCB Obstacles:Lifeline

This is our opportunity at Met Con Blue to educate and give insight as to the obstacles you may be encountering during our insane 5km adventure race. For this blog installment, we could just jump into obstacle number 12: Lifeline. We could tell you all the in’s and out’s, do’s and dont’s, post the “blue”print with specs, so that you may practise this obstacle in your sleep. Come race day….

Not so fast my pretties. There needs to be challenge, and a sense of mystery. We can tell you that arm strength may be needed. That an affinity for climbing could shave some time, and water slide experience an asset. We can also tell you that the obstacle in question is located in the Enchanted Forest, which as you may already have guessed, is a play on words. For more insight, go to our FAQ page and see: Aliens.
